is cut on the bias across 56 layers of silk organza — each one contributing weight, depth, and movement that only reveals itself in person. The hand embroidery is worked in reclaimed tweed yarn and silk thread; material with a past life, given a new one.

It was made to become part of something larger. Commissioned by the Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art — now in the permanent collection, and on view May 5th in Costume Art.
